The GX5290 series is a high-performance, cost-effective 3U PXI dynamic digital I/O board that offers 32 digital input or output channels and dynamic direction control functionality. At the same time, the GX5290 series also supports deep mode memory, providing 256 MB onboard vector memory, dynamically controlling the direction of each pin, and testing speeds up to 200 MHz. Single board design supports master and slave functions without the need for additional modules.

The GX5290 series supports optional I/O levels of 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V (TTL, LVTTL, CMOS, and LVCMOS). Additionally, the GX5292 supports 32 differential channels for LVDS, M-LVDS, Alternatively, the LVDM logic series, TTL/LVTTL interface utilizes programmable voltage resources to set the output logic level from 1.4V to 3.6V. The input signal supports programmable thresholds of 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V (5V compatible). The recommended working input voltage range is 0 V to 5.5 V.

By using a windowed approach for PCI memory access, the required PCI storage space for each board is limited to 16MB, thereby saving resources for the testing system. It also supports direct mode of continuous data transmission between the test system controller and the I/O pins of GX5290.

GX5292e provides 256MB of vector memory, with 64Mb per channel. The programmable I/O width allows for the transaction vector width of the vector depth. Under software control, the vector memory of GX5292 can be configured to support channel widths of 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, and 1, with corresponding vector depths of 64 Mb, 128 Mb, 256 Mb, 512 Mb, 1024 Mb, and 2048 Mb.

GX5290 provides programmable TTL/LVTTL output clock and gating, and supports external clock and strobe. Programmable PLL (Phase Locked Loop) provides configurable clock frequency and delay. It also provides an LVDS output clock.

The sequencer of GX5290 can stop or pause through an address or loop defined by the entire memory, or loop over a defined address range or memory block. It also supports two modes of digital testing - excitation/response and real-time comparison mode. The incentive/response mode is used to drive and capture data. Alternatively, for digital testing that requires long test vectors, real-time comparison mode can be used to significantly shorten overall testing time by comparing real-time, expected test results with only recorded fault vectors and synthesized test results (pass or fail).

Programming and software

The board is provided with DIOEasy, which offers powerful graphics vector development/waveform display tools, as well as virtual dashboards, 32-bit DLL driver libraries, and documentation. Virtual panels can be used to interactively control and monitor instruments from a window that displays their current settings and status. In addition, various interface files can access the instrument's functional library for programming tools and languages such as ATEasy, C / C ++,Microsoft VisualBasic ®, Delphi and Pascal.
